Revision

Research articles in English translated or written by non-native speakers invariably contain grammar mistakes and poorly constructed sentences that compromise the manuscript’s integrity and make it difficult to read and understand. This prevents authors from successfully completing the peer review process and publishing their articles in English language journals, as if their research never took place at all.

Our team of experienced and highly qualified native English-speaking editors will check your article for clarity and concision, correcting grammar mistakes and restructuring sentences as needed to ensure it’s comprehensible without changing your intended meaning. Then, a second native English-speaking proofreader will revise the article again to ensure it meets our high standards. During this process, we will flag any unclear sentences that require further clarification and contact you directly to resolve these issues before returning the article. Along with the final version of the manuscript, we also provide a copy of the article that shows the changes made, using MS Word’s track changes function. This allows you to easily check our changes, gives us your feedback, make further adjustments and have these checked for mistakes before submitting the manuscript to a journal for peer review.

The standard rate per word for a revision is 19 centavos (cents), which includes the initial translation, a subsequent revision of the article by a second translator, a Translation and Editing Certificate, and an additional round of editing to check new text (up to 10% of the quoted word count).
We also offer special discounts for first-time and regular customers, specific journals, graduate programs, research groups, laboratories and companies. A list of these can be found here on our website, or contact us for further details.

Charging on a per word basis ensures that the quote we provide is based on exactly the amount of text we translate. When requesting a quote, please attach your research article for analysis rather than merely providing a word count. This allows us to establish an accurate word count, disregarding items such as reference lists, numbers in tables, title page details etc., which do not need revising and therefore should not be included.

Terms: We require an initial down payment of 50% of the quoted price, with the balance due on completion of the translation. Please note that the article and certificate will only be sent once payment has been made in full. For international clients, payment can be made via bank transfer or Paypal (for Paypal payments,
an additional fee of 10% will be added to cover the transaction fees charged by Paypal in Brazil). Clients based in Brazil can pay by online bank transfer, deposit, PIX or boleto bancario (Brazilian bank slip). For payments made by an educational institution or funding agency, payment conditions can be negotiated in line with the policies of the institution in question.
